Scene of the Blog Featuring Jyoti of Jyoti's Pages!

I first came across this week's featured blogger when taking a look at the photos she'd submitted for At Home With Books' Saturday Snapshot.

Jyoti is from India, although she and her husband now live in Dublin, Ireland. Jyoti's Pages claims to be "About Books, Food and More..." and that certainly is not false advertising!

Jyoti reads an eclectic mix of books, and when she's not talking books, she's cooking and photographing and sharing it all with her readers. Every book blogging foodie should beat a path to Jyoti's Pages because not only do you get to share a love of books, you can pick up some tasty recipes (like chickpea salad with yogurt mint dressing--yum)! Do you have to be a book blogging foodie to enjoy Jyoti's blog? Of course not-- and I hope you pay her a visit soon!

If you're visiting from Jyoti's Pages, Welcome! I'm glad you're taking the time to see where Jyoti puts together those wonderful book and food posts. If you'd like to see any of the photos in larger sizes, all you have to do is click on them, and they'll open in new windows. Once you've seen Jyoti's creative spaces, feel free to look at the spaces of previous participants. Click on the Scene of the Blog tab at the very top of my header. There are two ways to search: by Blog Name and by Location. Now let's go visit Jyoti!

Where most of Jyoti's reading and blogging is done

I was very excited when Cathy asked me to be a part of her 'Scene of the Blog' feature. But I was a bit skeptical too, reason being that I don't really have a work space area! Given the space constraint in our present apartment I never really thought of having one. When I was a student, I always needed one but for leisure reading I actually prefer the couch. After spending a good of amount of time reading previous guest posts on 'Scene of the Blog', I decided to share my story.

A simple set-up for an excellent blog

I am not a compulsive book buyer. I depend hugely on my local library for my reading supply. If I had to count the number of books I buy, it would be no more than 7 or 8 for a whole year and these books are mostly the ones by Indian authors. I buy them every year I visit my home country. I borrow books from the library and stack them on my window sill or underneath the table in the living room. Many times when I don't find a book I am looking for, I just reserve it in the library and in about a week I have it in my hands. Borrowing books from the library ensures that the stacks on my window sills are never too high, not that I mind books, but I don't like over-crowded spaces. One day when I have a house of my own, I would definitely want a good space for my books maybe a mini library!

A windowsill to make any booklover smile

My love for books is not limited to novels; I love cookbooks, too. As you can see my blog Jyoti's Pages is about books and food alike. I draft most of the writing for my blog on my iPad. Later whenever I get time, I sit down with my laptop (mostly on the couch) and give finishing touches to my posts right before hitting the publish button!

I'm so glad that you decided to participate, Jyoti. It was a pleasure to be able to see where you put all those book and food posts together! Your food photos have enticed me to try more than one of your recipes!
