Melody is a working mother with two wonderful daughters and a loving husband. She and her family live in Singapore, and she would love to travel to the U.S. and Europe one day. In the mean time, she blogs about the books she reads-- an eclectic mix except for non-fiction, science fiction, memoirs, and poetry. If you haven't had the pleasure of reading Melody's blog, I urge you to take this opportunity to visit Melody's Reading Corner-- and please say hello while you're there!
If you're visiting from Melody's blog-- Welcome! I'm glad you came over to take a look at her blogging and reading spaces. If you'd like to see any of the following photos in larger sizes, all you have to do is click on them, and they'll open in new windows. If you'd like to see the creative spaces of previous participants, click on the Scene of the Blog tab at the very top of my header. There are two ways to search: by blog name and by location. Melody's waiting to give us a tour, so let's not keep her waiting!
Melody shares this space with her daughter and husband. |
Basically this is the study desk shared by my eldest daughter (who is 8-years-old) and my husband, who often does his work using his office laptop. The desktop on the next table (sorry, I have the monitor covered with a lace cloth) is where I usually blog, check email and Facebook. However, I also do those with my office desktop.
Everyone needs a comfy reading sofa, don't they? |
Since I don't have a reading chair, this is the place where I usually read and watch TV with my family. The good thing about reading on the sofa is you can choose to sit or to lay on it. Reading on the bed is relaxing, but it tends to make one fall asleep easily!
Melody's daughter says their study looks like a library! |
I got these bookshelves last year, and I love them! My eldest daughter always says these bookshelves have made our study room look more like a library, though I think we need more space to accommodate more shelves so that all my books can be kept in one place instead of scattering them all over the house.
So that is my little reading corner. Doesn't sound very exciting but it definitely makes me happy to have a book in hand no matter where I am.
I've found that blogging and reading spaces aren't about being exciting-- they're all about being spaces that are comfortable for you and that make you happy. It definitely looks to me as though you have spaces that work for you!
I'd love those bookcases, too. They're gorgeous! And like many of my readers, I'll wish you good luck with getting enough bookshelves so that you can have all your books in one place without finding them scattered throughout your house. I have 27 bookcases, and I still find books that have "escaped" into other areas!
Thank you so much, Melody, for allowing us this glimpse into your home and your creative spaces. We certainly appreciate it!

Don't forget to stop by next Wednesday when I'll be featuring another book blogger from our worldwide community!
Hi Cathy!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for hosting this and for asking me to be a part of this feature! I feel so honoured! :)
I hope everyone has a great week! :)
I came over from Melody's blog. Nice library you got there! :) Lots of books to choose from too.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, what a comfy looking sofa! I could definitely see curling up with the current read or TV. Your daughter's remark about the study room looking like a library made me laugh. I thought, "library, good!". LOL
ReplyDeleteI love the fuzzy pillows on the couch! Looks like a warm, comfy place to read and blog.
ReplyDeleteI like your comfy sofa - perfect for reading.
ReplyDeleteI'm a fan of Melody's blog -- I've been reading it for years -- and I love her space. Glad to know that I'm not the only one with crowded book shelves.
ReplyDeleteWow such a nice blog feature, I liked seeing Mel's blogging and reading spaces. The bookshelves are lovely and the couch looks comfy!
ReplyDeleteOh - a shared desk space - that's living dangerously in my books! Is your daughter's remark that your study room looks like a library a COMPLAINT? Say it isn't so! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love seeing your blogging and reading spaces, Melody! I remember when you got your bookshelves but I don't think I ever saw a picture of them full with books. And how can your daughter possibly be 8?! Seems like just the other day that she was still such a little girl.
ReplyDeleteI love that her daughter thinks the room looks like a library!
ReplyDeleteThanks Melody, for the look at your space. The overflowing shelves do have that library look. And besides, if you get more shelves the books will just expand to fit them!
ReplyDeleteI want your sofa and all those books!
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for your lovely comments!! My daughter's remark about those bookcases that look like a library is definitely a compliment, hehe.
ReplyDeleteOnce again, thanks so much for visiting and reading my blog!! :) Hope everyone has a great weekend ahead!
Another great Scene of the Blog. Love your spaces.
ReplyDeleteI had to give some of my books away. It was painful. :)
Stop by my blog for some giveaways if you like.
