Sheri is a very friendly and helpful person. When I needed someone to design a button for this weekly feature, she was the first person I thought of, and although she really didn't know me from Adam's off ox, not only did she help me, she designed six different buttons for me to choose from! (I may change the button annually so they all get an airing because they're all excellent!)
If A Novel Menagerie is unknown territory to you, head on over there. You'll be glad you did!
By the way--Sheri has asked me to help her spread the word about a change in her blog URL and feed URL. The correct link for her blog is at the beginning of this post. Anyone who's noticed that her feed seems to have fallen off the radar, needs to change their existing address to this feed URL. You don't want to miss a single one of her posts!
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know. Shut up, Cathy, and cut to the chase! Where does Sheri do her blogging?!?
Let's take a look! (Remember that you can click on the photos to view them full size.)
Here's what Sheri has to say about her blogging space:
Here is my home office. You will see that I have books stashed everywhere that I can. It usually always has an animal lying next to the chair, but they were sleeping tonight!
It's too bad that all the animals were asleep when she took her photographs. I would've loved to have seen them. The thing that I noticed first when I looked at these photos is that the colors in the room remind me of the colors on her blog. Although it looks like her creative space isn't right out in the middle of traffic, it doesn't look far removed from it. She has favorite photos right where they can give her inspiration, and there's a fan nearby to help her keep her cool. All in all, a great creative space!
Thanks so much for letting us take a peek at your creative space, Sheri, we really appreciate it!
Tune in next Wednesday when another book blogger will let us take a look at her creative space here on Scene of the Blog!
Cathy... thanks for saying all of those nice things. You're right... it's not far off of the traffic route in the house. The desk is in an indentation (I wish it was an alcove) of the living room. So, the good news is that the kids watch television in the same room that I blog so that we're all in the same big room together.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the fan is up in the summer months. Right now it's down and I have books stacked everywhere in its place.
As you can see, I'm shoved in a little corner, but I try to make the best of it. Some day when the kids are off at college... and, I hopefully have held onto the house... I'll make one room into an office and the other a guest room. I want a water feature in my office and all kinds of earthy, calming goodies!
Thanks, Cathy for hosting A Novel Menagerie this week!
Sheri
What a super spot for blogging. I love how it's separate but not lonely. And the photos and book shelves really make the nook look inviting.
ReplyDeleteOh and thanks for the URL update. I had missed that.
I love Sherri's blog and her space! I can't believe how neat it is with the menagerie she has!
ReplyDeleteLove it! How fun! I love that you do this feature. It is a great idea. :)
ReplyDeleteHope you can stop by today - the Blogoversary party is going on as I speak.... er.... type :)
What a neat space! I love that it's off the living room, sort of like mine.

Diary of an Eccentric
Would have loved to see the animals too :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a very nice place indeed
I love Sheri's blog - and her space is EXACTLY what I thought it would be - beautiful, neat (unlike mine!), and well organized :)
ReplyDeleteBeth... the nook may be inviting if it wasn't so cluttered! It needs a complete take down and re-do to make it pretty and organzied.
ReplyDeleteKathy... you love my blog? Really? Wow! Thank you! Kiss right back atcha!
Sheila... I'll stop by your party.
Anna... it helps being right off the living room when you have little ones, eh?
Blodeuedd... if you're interested, there are tons of photos of the menagerie in my sidebar on my blog.
Wendy... your a tad crazy, chica! It's not neat and organized... rather stuffed to the gills! But, thanks for making me feel better about it. And, thanks for saying you like my blog. You know I love yours. AND, I love how we both love love love those furred creatures!
Sheri
I checked out her site and oh there are so many things to look at and read! LOL! She has a nice computer area too.
ReplyDeleteGreat post!
Natalie
What a wonderful place to blog! I'm jealous of all these cozy blogging rooms :-) I'm usually just sitting on the love seat in our living room/den.
ReplyDeleteAnother great Scene of the Blog, thank you both, Cathy and Sheri!
I checked out A Novel Menagerie - very nice!
ReplyDeleteI nominated you for a blogger award. The details are here:
One eyed stuffed bunny and ...
Thanks, Natalie!
ReplyDeleteWow! What an inviting and neat office room. I love the colors and the wood, it's something I could easily imagine to promote creativity.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sheri, the pleasure has been all mine. :) One word of warning on those water features? I just had to have one for my own office. I stopped turning it on after about three days because the sound of running water had me running to the bathroom constantly! LOL
ReplyDeleteMelissa--You're welcome!
Cathy--Thank you so much!!
I love the dark wood furniture! It's so much fun to be able to see where you are working on your Sheri!
ReplyDeleteLovely space ... looks very elegant and organized. And I think the button you use for Scene of the Blog is genius ... so I'm happy to hear who came up with it. : )
ReplyDeleteAlways great to take a peek at someone's space. Thanks Sheri for sharing. And I love the idea of a water feature!!
ReplyDeleteI do love the colors. It looks like a very calming space to blog in! Wake up those kittehs!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Cathy for featuring one of my favorite bloggers.. now her blog has changed colors so maybe she was a tad sick of the maroon?
ReplyDeleteSheri's blog was one of the first I noticed when I started the book bloggin biz last October. She is very thorough and has a wide variety of topics that all fits well with her personality and I enjoy spending my time there.
Marie--Sheri is fantastic, and this is one of those features for which I deserve no thanks because everyone who's agreed to participate seems like a thank you to me!
