Scene of the Blog-- Brooke of The Bluestocking Guide

This week we're heading to New Jersey to visit with Brooke, creator of The Bluestocking Guide. I love her blog's subtitle: "Reviews by a Partial, Prejudiced, and Ignorant Reader." (If truth be told, I think that sums up yours truly and a few more book bloggers. To paraphrase: "I don't know much about books, but I know what I like!")

Brooke is extremely friendly and helpful, and if you're not familiar with her blog, go take a look! She has pod casts and Cafe Blue, a chat room for members to discuss books, as well as all of her book reviews.

Let's take a look at where she does her blogging. When I saw the first photo, my eyes almost popped out of my head. Wow...what a blogging room! Don't forget: you can click on the photos to view them full size.

I didn't always have a workspace. My house is crowded. My dad works out of the house and has two desks, my mom works part time out of the home at the kitchen table, and my sister has a desk in her room. I tried using the kitchen table and even tried blogging on my bed. It was too difficult, so I bought this desk which I had been eyeing at Pottery Barn. I put it in the living room (our former garage) which we never use. So there is a couch, love seat, and armchair for reading. My book cases are in my bedroom, though I will have to add a bookcase in this room if I continue to get more books for review. It's so nice and quiet. Mom even forgets I am in the room!

I thought I'd share the view from my desk during the day.

It looks to me as though Brooke has put an unused room to very good use. She even has a choice of seating when it's time to curl up with a book. Oh...and to be sitting there with that view from the windows! The room has lovely colors, good furniture, and great windows.

Brooke, thanks so much for giving us this glimpse into your creative space. We really appreciate it!

Don't forget to stop by next week to see another book blogger's workspace. If you'd like to participate in this feature and I haven't contacted you, please don't be shy. Contact me! Just keep in mind that it may be several weeks (even months) before your space is featured. (This feature has become more popular than I ever dreamed, thanks to all of YOU.)
